The famous author, composer and musician Timur Kitov gave a new breath to the folk Adyghe melodies. The first in a series of premieres was an updated version of the song "Dakhejan" ("Beauty"), beloved and recognizable by the entire Caucasus.
“I always wanted to hear more traditional instruments in folk music,” says Timur, “the accordion has recently entered the tradition and has taken a leading role in it. It seems to me that other traditional instruments are undeservedly deprived of attention. This is the reason why the performance styling is on the app.
Why this motive? It's very melodic and very lively, plus it has an interesting story. It became popular, coming from the Middle Eastern musical culture, and being adapted. And I chose the stylization genre because I want this music to be understandable to the maximum number of people. I want to interest those who are not yet familiar with Caucasian folk music or who still do not like it.”
