Mountain Dance - Premiere at Kavkaz Music

The premiere of the next video project #DancesNarodovKavkaza

"Highland Dance" tells the viewer about the events taking place somewhere in the mountain corner of the Greater Caucasus. Where princes still manage the territories, simple shepherds and tillers work in the fields, and somewhere in the forests live abreks - warriors and robbers who do not recognize anyone else's power except their own. What can unite them? All of them are men of the mountains!

What is constant in every man? What prompts him to act and exploit? The spirit of competition, the desire to show oneself, to prove the strength and indomitability of one's character!

Many dances of the Caucasus originated from the ancient system of combat training of warriors. Dancing figures have incorporated elements of exercises and techniques - tricking, fencing, archery. Here is a variation of the mountain dance - this is a battle, but the skill of the dancer acts as a weapon in it.

"Mountain Dance" - a large-scale and complex video clip of the project #DancesNarodovKavkaza

A large team from different parts of Russia and the CIS participated in the formulation and implementation of the idea: from the KCR, the KBR, Adygea, the Krasnodar Territory, and even Uzbekistan.

The idea of staging the dance came from a participant in the previous dances of the project, a dancer with great experience, Ismail Khadzhimov. The project was produced by Jamal Daguzhiev. Music by Rami Daroka. Stage director - Artur Nashev, editing director - Azamat Nashev.

The actors of the production were dancers and choreographers of the Caucasus. The prince and his pupil - Ismail Khadzhimov and Nurali Psheunov. Highlanders: Ruslan Daurov, Khakimov Javlon, Islam Makhov, Ruslan Burkhonov. Abreki: Asfar Nash, Aydar Shamanov.
We decided to learn the details of the filming process, the secrets from the main actors and the secrets of the mountain character from the project participants.

Describe the storyline of the clip, what is it about?

Ruslan Burkhonov (Highlander): "This clip is a vivid example of the collision of interests of different strata of society that used to dominate these lands."

Ismail Khadzhimov (prince): “The storyline of the dance is that, despite belonging to different classes of Caucasians, men are united by an equally indomitable character. As a basis, we used the Georgian dance “kazbeguri”. And then they tried to combine it with the roles and plot. ”

Why did you decide to participate?

Islam Makhov: “It is important for me that while we are young and full of energy, to show people the culture of our peoples, so that the generation that follows us remembers everything for which our ancestors stood to the end.”

Ismail Khadzhimov (prince): “I decided to take part, as there was a chance to realize an idea that has long lived in my head. It’s always interesting for a creative person. ”

Asfar Nash (abrek): “A combination of factors pushed me to participate: an interesting pastime in the company of friends, time for unity with nature and the possibility of cultural contribution.”

Ruslan Burkhonov (Highlander): "Why not" - I thought when I was offered. I liked the very idea of the video, and for me it is a huge experience. I wanted to become a part of history, because more than one future generation will see this video.

What were the conditions on the set?

Asfar Nash (abrek): “These were male conditions. To chop wood, to heat a potbelly stove, to bathe in cold water. ”

Ismail Khadzhimov (prince): “The conditions were perfect! If it weren’t for them, then for sure we would not have saturated this atmosphere. Imagine: Arkhyz, it’s cold, we live in a house with a wood-burning stove, there is no hot water, we cook at the stake and this is all three days in a row. If we are talking about creativity, then cool. After all, they didn’t go to the sanatorium. ”

Ruslan Burkhonov (Highlander): “At first it was uncomfortable, somehow unusual. We found ourselves in places remote from civilization: there was no connection, no internet. It was cold all the time. On the one hand it was wild, but on the other, I rested from my usual way of life. The filming process itself brought tremendous pleasure, the whole team - professionals in their field.

How did you feel in your images?

Ruslan Burkhonov (Highlander): “Honestly, I was worried that I could not enter the role of a highlander and play with dignity. But, as soon as I immersed myself in the filming process itself - it became my everyday state, since I spend a lot of time in the dance hall. It so happened that “I” and “image” were looking for each other, and now “we” came together at that moment. ”

Ruslan Daurov (senior highlander): “Basically, I felt comfortable, the image is familiar and close to me, because it is in my blood. But it was a little unusual for me not to dance. After all, a professional dancer, but at the site I played the role of an elder who teaches, controls and directs. A very interesting experience for me! ”

Ismail Khadzhimov (prince): “At first I felt a little strange in the role of a prince. The prince should be a man of age, in my understanding, who has come a long way with his people, and in his eyes should be a lot of experience and knowledge. I understood that I was young for this, so I convinced myself that I was a young prince, and my younger brother was with me. So he took for himself this role. And yet, it’s more interesting to be an abrek! ”

Asfar Nash (abrek): “I felt quite comfortable in my image, because he made it possible to demonstrate character, to let out the wild insides, bound in everyday life by social conditions. ”

What is most remembered in the filming process?

Islam Makhov (Highlander): “Most of all I remembered how we froze and took turns warming ourselves around the fire. It was not easy, in fact, we did a great job. Three days for three minutes. ”

Ruslan Burkhonov (Highlander): “Probably the atmosphere that prevailed there. There were very warm relations between the participants in the filming process, I found new friends ”

What do you think drives a man to rivalry?

Ruslan Burkhonov (Highlander): “Well, first of all, the very spirit of competition. It is inherent in us, especially by such a “hot cow” like me, it has been vaccinated since childhood. The spirit of competition and fearlessness can lead a man to the greatest heights in life. "

Who won this battle?

Ismail Khadzhimov (prince): “Nobility won. It seems that the roles are different, people are different, but the outcome is world. So they are all noble, and life has spread them in different ways. As they say, it doesn't matter whether you are a shepherd or a prince, the main thing is to be a man. And the concept of "man" collects a lot in itself. "

Islam Makhov (Highlander): “What our peoples lack now, unity, won. All were scattered then and now. This, unfortunately, is so "

The author of the music - the famous composer Rami Daroka - felt and embodied the spirit of dance in the melody

Rami Daroka: “The project turned out to be really excellent, and all thanks to the assembled team of professionals, their well-coordinated work and organization. And we owe this to the producer of the project - Jamal Daguzhiev. We worked as a single mechanism, without even knowing each other, but we clearly understood the plot, the possibilities, and the energy of other team members. I see that the project #Dances of the Peoples of the Caucasus is getting better and better every time. I am sure that people like it.
The manner of the composition of the Mountain Dance is Georgian, mountainous. I have reworked the melody more than once to perfectly adapt it to the dance and acting. The result is a fusion of the Chechen melody with the Georgian one and with my author's inserts.
I would like to thank our team. I hope that all participants in the project are satisfied with the result, and the audience will understand and feel this work as a single professional product. Thanks to the Kavkaz Music label for making it possible to become part of such a wonderful project. ”
