The ritual wedding song “Kelinchik” (“Bride”) was presented by Nata Sozaeva. The song is written and performed in the Karachay-Balkar language
“One of the significant events in every family has always been the creation of a new family,” says Natu. “In the Caucasus, we have a lot of beautiful traditions associated with weddings. Especially here, the Karachay-Balkars have a very beautiful ritual “Bash au alg’an adet”, the ritual of removing scarves. The bride is taken to the elders of the family to meet.
The moment the bride is brought out comes with beautiful musical accompaniment. And today I have great pleasure in presenting to you a new song “Kelinchik” (“Daughter-in-law”), which very beautifully emphasizes the beauty of our traditions.
