“I heard this song a long time ago, performed by Asau, he then sang it with a guitar,” says Islam, “as far as I understood, it was not his most popular song then, he rarely performed it. I will not say that I immediately drew attention to her, but I remember her. In 2021, my fellow guitarist Ivan Alyoshin and I planned a mini-tour around the cities, with concerts, and I had to put together a concert program of acoustic versions of my Zaman program. They played the guitars and dombra wherever. And I did not have enough works for a suitable program. Then I remembered the song "Kaigyrma", I wanted to diversify the program, if not with my songs, but with those that we could give a new life to. It is important that the song fit the style, and it was comfortable for me to sing it. Then we made it in this version, and after the tour ended, I received a lot of feedback and a lot of people were interested in this particular song, because people knew the tracks of the album, but this one was new, was not released or recorded.
Since the spring of 2022, I kept promising my listeners to release it, but I kept putting it off. I was reminded of her at various intervals. It can be said that I had some creative pause, I didn’t record anything then, I didn’t release anything. For some reason, I started thinking about this song more and more often. I really liked the meaning of the song, and I wanted to release it. “Kaigyrma” is translated as “Do not be sad”, this is a support song for a loved one. The whole point of the song is that the author supports and reassures his loved one. He says that despite the difficulties, the ups and downs, I will always be there for you. And, probably, somewhere inside she responded right now. The last years can hardly be called easy. Ever since the start of the pandemic. And I think people need support right now. Probably, I also had a desire to record this song in order to inspire people to support each other in difficult life situations.
Exactly two years ago, just before the New Year, I released an acoustic version of the song "Kaytar meni". I wanted to give the audience a small gift. And I decided to shoot a short video for it, in which we combined plans in one frame, where I play and sing and, also, I play the role of musicians. And in fact, I wrote all this in the studio. Released, and people really liked it, I got a lot of good reviews. Moreover, reviews from different Turkic-speaking regions and countries. This video brought me new listeners. It was evident that the format had entered.
And when I started preparing for the release of "Kaigyrma" I again wanted to make an acoustic story. I am now somehow more drawn to acoustic, live projects, with airy, soft music. I recorded guitar, dombra, percussion and somehow I thought that it was necessary to expand the group of me (laughs ed. note) and add more instruments. I took a bass guitar, recorded a drum kit, played and recorded it myself, added shakers, claps, clicks, recorded backing. And I decided to repeat all this work in the music video for the song "Kaigyrma". I repeated the style of the previous video, it seemed to be atmospheric.
I would like to remind my listeners how important it is to pay more attention to your loved ones, loved ones, who may need support, but do not talk about it.
