Every September, residents of one of the southern regions of Russia celebrate their holiday - the Day of the Stavropol Territory. This tradition developed in 1999, when the local governor signed a decree "On the Day of the Stavropol Territory." But at first it was celebrated in the spring - on the third Saturday of May, and in 2015 it was postponed to autumn.
On the Day of the Stavropol Territory, mass festivities and solemn ceremonies are held, an extensive festive program is being prepared. For example, a march parade has already become a tradition. It is accompanied by performances by musicians, dancers and theatrical performances.
