Days of White Cranes in the Republic of Dagestan
Since 1986, Dagestan has been celebrating the White Crane Festival, the name of which was given by the song “Cranes” to the verses of Rasul Gamzatov. Days of White Cranes have become an important national and international event.
The celebration takes place traditionally in early September in Dagestan in the form of the festival "Days of White Cranes", with the participation of guests from other countries.
These days, not only in Dagestan, but throughout Russia, they remember the talented and truly popular poet Rasul Gamzatov. His work unites people of different nationalities, teaches friendship, love, wisdom and goodness. The date of celebration is September 8, timed to coincide with the birthday of Rasul Gamzatov, and the festival itself traditionally lasts several days.
