New Year
The celebration of the arrival of the new year in the Caucasus is bright, magnificent and fun, as well as throughout Russia. However, many peoples have still preserved their own ancient traditions of celebration, and their dates often differ:

• Circassians celebrate the new year on March 22;
• On January 14 Ossetians celebrate Nogbontæ (new days);
• Otsbay - the holiday of the first furrow, celebrated in the mountains of Dagestan on March 21;
• On March 21, Navruz Bayram is also celebrated among the Iranian and Turkic peoples;
• the Ingush celebrate the New Year on December 25.
